September wedding in Sinj – home of the Alkar
Funny thing is that I get a lot of inquiries for wedding photography in Sinj, but this was the first one I’ve done. I was hoping to get a chance to be there while Sinjska Alka was taking place which didn’t happen at this particular time, but I am still hoping for it in years to come 🙂
Or at least a session if not full wedding so if your are interested in such an event – do feel free to contact me 🙂
Anyway, now that we got this out of the way, let’s get cracking 🙂 Sinj is an old city near Split in the south of Croatia, it’s architecture and cobbled stone streets make for amazing backdrop for images.
The weather was just perfect, though sun did drop tiny bit too fast for my liking, making it a bit colder in the evening, and a bit darker during the ceremony. Luckily the spirits were very much lifted thanks to amazing people that hosted this event – Anita and Frano.
Those two are just amazing! Loveable, young, easy going, funny, relaxed and happy. Just the way I like my clients to be! Though living in Germany, it wasn’t too hard for them to decide to do the wedding back home, as they knew people would much better party over here.
The very second I met them, I knew I was in for a party, and one thing I really love while shooting weddings is a good quality party. But first things first – the engagement session.
Be what you want to be – even if they look at you differently in your hometown of Sinj
That’s always the general idea, and when I saw Frano coming to a session dressed in Slipknot t-shirt I knew instantly we were about to have ton of fun. I was so right – the fun we had was so immense that when I got home I had inflammation of the abdominal muscles from laughter.
We got the good use of nice weather and the fact that they had a couple of days in Zagreb on transition from Sinj back to Munich.
I know for a fact that Frano loves having his pictures taken (a point he never fails to make unlike most of the other grooms) so I was really looking forward to this session and wedding – and boy did he deliver 🙂
We had amazing fun and did made some great images, especially second part of the session even though they were tired from a wedding they were at the day before.
The special day
As the session was such a great fun, Anita and Frano were totally relaxed and comfortable with me being around them. Their crazy friends were as fun as them, and the very second we met – we clicked.
When I saw that, I knew the party was going to be amazing! Once again – I was right. Venue Hotel Alkar has open concept hall for weddings and did nice job with the details and light for the dance floor. The band Grupa Best complimented the light and details similarly with fantastic atmosphere which the wedding party recognised and danced their feet off entire night.
To make long story tiny bit shorter – I can’t wait to shoot another wedding in Sinj which happens to be very next year with another rockabilly crew 🙂
